Leucovorin
Leucovorin is used as an antidote to the adverse effects of methotrexate (a cancer medicine) that is administered in high doses. It is used also to prevent or treat specific kinds of anemia. Leucovorin acts in the same manner in the body as folic acid, which might be low in these patients.
Leucovorin is also used along with fluorouracil (a cancer medication) for the treatment of cancer of the colon (bowel). This medication is only available under the prescription of your doctor.
